Bring QuickBooks and Xero numbers into DeskCalc
Export a report to CSV, paste the amount column into DeskCalc, and get an adding-machine tape you can audit — then hand the checked figures back as Excel, CSV or PDF. It works through the CSV both tools already speak, so there is nothing to authorize.
Paste a whole column
Copy the amount column from your export — or straight from the on-screen report — and press Ctrl+V. Each figure lands on its own line in the tape, ready to total.
Check it line by line
Unlike a hidden spreadsheet sum, DeskCalc keeps the visible tape: subtotals, a VAT or percentage key, a note beside any line. You see how the total was built — and can audit it.
Hand clean figures back
Export the finished tape to Excel, CSV or PDF in one click. Import the CSV into QuickBooks or Xero, or attach the PDF tape as the audit trail for the entry.
How the round trip works
A manual copy, paste and export — deliberately simple, and nothing to set up.
Export from QuickBooks or Xero
Run the report you need — transactions, an expense list, a reconciliation — and export it to CSV or Excel. Both tools do this out of the box.
Paste into DeskCalc
Open the file, select the amount column, copy, and paste into DeskCalc with Ctrl+V. The numbers become a running tape with a live total.
Check and send it back
Add subtotals, apply VAT, annotate a line — then export the tape to Excel, CSV or PDF and import or attach it wherever the figure belongs.
What this does — and what it doesn’t
DeskCalc sits next to your accounting tool, not inside it. That is the point: a fast, transparent adding machine for the moments a spreadsheet cell hides the math.
What it does
- Reads the CSV and Excel exports QuickBooks, Xero, DATEV and Sage already produce.
- Takes a pasted column (Ctrl+V) straight into the tape — one figure per line.
- Gives you a visible, auditable tape: subtotals, VAT / percentage, per-line notes.
- Exports back to Excel, CSV, PDF or the clipboard in one step.
- Needs nothing installed or authorized on the accounting side.
What it isn’t (honestly)
- –Not a QuickBooks or Xero plugin, and not an OAuth connector.
- –No automatic sync — it is a manual copy / paste / export, by design.
- –DeskCalc does not post entries into your ledger; it checks and totals the numbers.
